Since 1992, the company has acquired and managed 123 properties totaling over 28,000 units. Today, MG Properties Group owns and manages 17,500 apartment homes in over 60 communities in high-growth cities in California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington and Oregon. The company’s apartment portfolio has a total market value of over $3.5 billion. As CEO, he has guided the growth of MG Properties Group, raising money for new investment partnerships and overseeing the renovation, lease-up and property management of the company's portfolio of value-add communities. Prior to forming MG Properties, Mark was a tax specialist for five years with international accounting firms Ernst & Whinney and Touche Ross and worked for six years in senior financial management positions with Hybritech Incorporated and Solar Turbines Corporation. Mark was awarded the 2018 San Diego Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. He serves on the Executive Board of the USD Burnham Moores Real Estate School, is a member of the National Multi Housing Counsel Board of Directors and SD Economic Development Corporation Strategic Round Table, is a trustee of the UCSD Foundation, and has served on many charitable boards. He has been a speaker at numerous industry events. He graduated with a degree in Business from Drexel University in 1979 and became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in 1981 and a California licensed Real Estate Broker in 1990.
Paul joined MG Properties Group in 2010 and is responsible for the firm's acquisition, disposition, and capital markets activities. At MG, he has been involved with the purchase of approximately 18,000 units totaling $3 billion in total consideration. Paul has 17 years of experience in real estate private equity investment, capital markets, and corporate M&A. Prior to joining MG, he held various roles in commercial real estate debt and equity acquisitions, development, and financing. He has a background in corporate M&A and venture capital investing at Northrop Grumman (NOC). Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Patti joined MG Properties in May 2005 and has 25 years of operations and asset management experience in the multi-family housing industry. Prior to joining MG, Patti spent six years as a Senior Regional Manager for Equity Residential, one of the largest apartment owners in the United States, and 10 years working in various property and asset management capacities including President of the Management Division for a privately held property management/investment organization in Santa Barbara. Patti is a Certified Property Manager with the Institute of Real Estate Management and received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Communications from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Joe is a 2015 addition to MG Properties Group, responsible for directing the financial and fiscal management of company Operations, including budgeting, treasury, tax, accounting, information technology, risk management and insurance. Prior to joining MG, Joe was the CFO and Director of Development with ColRich, a diversified privately held Real Estate company, specializing in Apartment investment, ownership, construction and management (9,400 units), land development and home building in the Western U.S. Joe’s real estate experience also includes being the COO/CFO of Florsheim Homes, a Northern California based homebuilder/developer, with operations in CA and NV, from 2006 - 2011. Joe was also the CFO for Shea Homes San Diego from 2001-2006 and worked for the international firm Deloitte & Touche. Joe earned his BBA in Accounting and MBA from the University of San Diego. Joe is a Certified Public Accountant, in addition to possessing a California Real Estate Brokers and General Contractors License. Joe is the chairman of the Residential Real Estate Committee for Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate. Recognized as an industry expert, Joe has been a frequent contributor on CNBC television, discussing the housing and real estate markets.
Jeff has a long history with MG Properties Group and is responsible for investment transactions, investment strategies and partner relations. Jeff was previously Director of Investments, responsible for corporate equity and debt strategies and was an Acquisition Manager sourcing and underwriting new investment opportunities. Jeff has also served in asset management, regional management and onsite property management roles. Prior to joining MGPG, Jeff worked in apartment investment sales at CBRE, the country’s largest apartment brokerage firm, where he oversaw the sale of over $500 million in Southern California multifamily properties. Jeff has a Business Degree, with an emphasis in finance and management from the University of Southern California, while also completing internships at CBRE and Berkadia Real Estate Advisors. He later earned a Master of Science degree in Real Estate from the University of San Diego Burnham Moores School of Real Estate. Jeff holds a California Real Estate Broker license and LEED Green certification.
Marc has over 25 years of real estate development, value-add repositioning, land use and entitlement processing and construction oversight experience. Prior to joining MG Properties in 2006, Marc owned and managed his own successful real estate development firm specializing in asset repositioning and build to suit opportunities in in the Arizona and Southern California markets. Marc graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Arizona.
Chris joined MG Properties Group in 2018. He has served in public and private real estate management roles for over 30 years. His leadership includes experience in the hotel and restaurant industry as well as corporate and conventional housing, acquisitions and dispositions, and luxury resort community management. He has overseen a portfolio of more than 28,000 units in over 20 markets in Southern California. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Wisconsin.
Melise has been with MG Properties since June 1998 and has over 25 years of experience in multi-family property management and condominium conversion. She has managed and overseen multifamily portfolios of up to 12,000 apartment homes throughout the western United States, which included properties as large as 1,100 units. Melise is a Certified Property Manager with the Institute of Real Estate Management. She is a member and instructor with the San Diego County Apartment Association, the California Apartment Association, the National Apartment Association and the North County Managers Association.
Idalith Santiago, Vice President of Human Resources joined MG Properties in May of 2019. Idalith brings over 15 years of hospitality experience to her role and has unparalleled human resources expertise having most recently opened InterContinental San Diego luxury hotel. Idalith has experience managing different aspects of Human Resources ranging from human capital, compensation, benefits administration, employee safety, and managing organizational change process. Idalith received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, and holds a Human Resources Certification from University of California San Diego.
Kavita has been with MG Properties Group since 2005 and oversees Investor Relations and is also Executive Assistant to Founder and CEO, Mark Gleiberman. She is responsible for all communications and administrative oversight to MG Properties’ 950 investors. Lane joined MG Properties Group in August 2005 and today is responsible for the integration of property acquisition debt and equity, directing dispositions and leading the company’s commitment to its investors through excellence in Investment Management, which applies investment performance analysis to strategic investment decisions across the company’s owned portfolio. He has 20 years of multi-family real estate investment experience representing over $3.5 billion in multi-family investment and financing transactions as a leading member of the investments team at MG Properties Group and multi-family investment brokerage teams at CB Richard Ellis. Lane completed the Real Estate Management: Finance, Design and Leadership executive education course at Harvard Business School. He is a Beta Gamma Sigma graduate of the Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City with an MBA in Finance. He holds a bachelor degree with Phi Beta Kappa honors in Geography from the University of Kansas.
Troy joined MG Properties in January 2016 to oversee the firm’s asset management department with responsibilities for the business and operational strategies of the firm’s growing multifamily investment portfolio. Troy oversees the analysis of new acquisitions, budgeting, and monitoring of portfolio performance with a focus on maximizing revenue through oversight of pricing, ancillary income programs, and implementation of efficient systems and processes. Prior to joining MG, Troy served as a Senior Asset Manager with ColRich, a diversified privately held multifamily real estate investment and development company and as an Asset Manager and Acquisition Officer with ConAm, a San Diego based multifamily investment and property management company. Troy holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California at Irvine where he competed on the Anteater men’s basketball team.
